Introduction
During the Vietnam War, people in the U.S. protested against the war. As people were being slaughtered in Vietnam, protesters made music against the war to attempt to stop it. The music of that time reflects how the war made the people angry. There were many anti-war songs that showed how people wanted to stop the war.
Background Information
The Vietnam War lasted from 1957 to 1975. That's 18 years, and that isn't even including how long the French fought the war (from 1946 to 1957). The war started all with North and South Korea. South Korea was on the U.S.' side, because America helped them out during the Korean War. After the war, North Korea eventually launched a surprise attack on June 25, 1950 on the south, because they still wanted to make the Koreas under an entire Communist government. When America heard about the attack, they sent in troops to help out South Korea. This fight was held in South Vietnam, which was South Korean territory, so America could help defend them from the invasion coming from the north.
